Driving from Croatia into Budapest during the height of the pandemic was nerve-racking, with ever-changing rules and stern, unfriendly border patrol agents heightening the anxiety. But the moment we crossed the border, the tension dissolved into pure hilarity. Our tiny rental car squeezed through impossibly narrow streets, dodging parked cars lining sidewalks as we laughed our way through the city. Despite the rocky start, we spent a wonderful few days in Budapest, meeting delightful locals and even connecting with a fun couple who made the experience even more memorable!
