Hello! I’m Julie
World Traveler & Professional BloggerSeeking Serendipity
Born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I’ve always been grounded by a love for nature, community, and connection. I’m married and the proud parent of four wonderful adult children who continue to inspire me every day.
After years of owning and operating a successful in-home care agency, I recently retired and stepped into a new chapter—one filled with travel, curiosity, and purpose. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit many countries, and I plan to explore even more. My travels blend adventure with service, as I’m passionate about volunteering and giving back to the communities I visit.
What I love most about traveling are the unexpected moments—those unscripted experiences with local cultures that stay with you long after the trip ends. These interactions continually open my eyes and deepen my appreciation for the world’s diversity.
I’m excited to share my journeys and reflections here, with the hope of helping to bridge cultures, spark connection, and inspire others to embrace the beauty of the unfamiliar.
Smiling Is Universal
One World, One Smile
No matter where I travel—whether for adventure or volunteer work—I am always reminded that a smile transcends language, borders, and culture. Smiling Is Universal is a collection of moments that reflect our shared humanity: quiet exchanges, unexpected joy, and the powerful connection found in a simple smile.
These photographs tell stories of people I’ve met along the way—stories of resilience, kindness, curiosity, and hope. My greatest joy in travel comes from these unexpected encounters with local communities, where a smile often becomes the first bridge between strangers.
It is my hope that this gallery not only celebrates the beauty of different cultures, but also reminds us how deeply alike we truly are.
